1/144 V-Dash Gundam - Dining's Graveyard Kit

While Gdx9902 and others from Vanpla club fought for the Escaflowne kit from Dining's graveyard bin, I found myself a real gem. And it was the 1/144 V Dash Gundam. When I found it from the bin, it was kept in a ziplock bag with parts in pieces. And most of it is already glued and primed.

When I put all the pieces back together tonight, to my surprise, it has very good proportion. This non-grade kit was first released in 1993 and was later re-produced (>10 years later?). It has limited articulation. I would say the quality is between FG and HG kits. In comparison, those newer non-grade gundam wing kits were in a lot worse shape.

Here are the pictures. You can see it actually looks a bit different from the Katoki's design. Especially, the legs are not as wide, and knee caps are quite different.

The other thing I notice is that the head is also a little too big, and the joint articulation is not very good. However, all these shortcomings should be fixable with some modifications.

Although the kit is already glued and primed, I will have to crack/cut all the pieces for the modifications, which I already have a pretty good idea on how to go about it . But it will be yet another time-consuming project. Dining actually had the same kit that is brand new. I think it belongs to Gdx now. It would make things a little easier if I had bought it.

Anyways, I don't think I will start this project any time soon (maybe after the Aboa Qu Cluster diorama thing).

BTW, this is my photo booth.
